FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VETERAN PROSPECT JON BEARDSLEE PERMANENTLY BENCHED; FREE AGENT MARKET unbothered.

Published: November 15th, 2025

In a blockbuster move that has officially closed the window on a historic run, veteran prospect Jon Beardslee has been permanently moved to the restricted list. General Manager Mady announced today that following a highly successful negotiation phase, Beardslee is officially getting benched.

"Jon has had a good run," GM Mady noted in a brief statement to the press. "But it was time to officially pull him off the market. We’ve secured him on a lifetime contract, and frankly, he’s lucky we picked him up. He wasn't getting any interest from other organizations at this point in his career."

Sources close to the negotiations report that Beardslee, who has been holding his playing weight steady at around 195 lbs for the upcoming season, put up zero fight when the terms were presented. He fully waived his no-trade clause, acknowledging it's time to focus on family, noting his "ankles sound like a cement mixer and this Pen Griffey Jr. doesn't help the ole lungs".

To commemorate the end of an era, a final farewell tour and jersey retirement ceremony will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, this October. The front office is currently calling up a specialized roster of benchwarmers, washed-up veterans, and guys who just really like eating good food, having a good time, and standing around talking about nonsense to see him off properly.

Attendance for the Nashville training camp is mandatory. Expect some drinking, elite honky-tonkin, eatin' good, and strictly enforced jersey uniform codes.
